Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

What is Mâche Dining?

We are a Chef run Kitchen offering plant based catering, vegan charcuterie, fresh and frozen meals to go.

What are your hours and where are you located?

Our kitchen/shop is at 83 Frank st Strathroy. Our current store hours are just Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Before this beautiful shop appeared in our lives, we booked a variety of caterings and obligations that are wrapping up. More hours will be coming near the end of summer.

How do I order the weekly meals?

Our Menu is posted on Monday. Add the Weekly Meal product to your cart. You then select which five meals you want. One of each? 5 of the same meal? Your choice! Select your option for pick up at the shop on Saturdays between 9 am and 2 pm, or delivery to the London and Strathroy area (including Kilworth, Komolka, Mount Brydges). Check out how you prefer.

How do I pick up my order?

Pick ups are currently on Saturday mornings between 9 and 2. All other pick ups are by appointment only. You will be contacted, if your meals are still at the shop, and arrangements will be made. Meals not picked up, and not arranged to be picked up, will be donated.

How does delivery work?

We are offering delivery to a number of postal codes within the London and Strathroy area. If you are from Kilworth, Komoka, Mount Brydges, Delaware, please read the next section as well! If you won’t be home, you must leave a cooler out. Please contact us with any specific information for delivery. We will call if no one answers the door. If no one is home, and no cooler is there, and no other arrangements have been made, the meals will be taken back to the shop. Arrangements can be made to pick up. Meals that aren’t claimed, will be donated.

I live in Kilworth / Komoka / Mount Brydges / Delaware, how come I can’t check out with delivery?

I don’t know why, but when they assigned postal codes to your area, rather than break it into reasonable sections, it’s like the entire county. Punch it in on google maps and you can see how big your postal code area is! Do I want to service everyone, absolutely. Can I? Absolutely not yet. For my friends of Kilworth, Komoka, Mount Brydges, Delaware, place your order using the postal code N7G 2R5 (the shops address) for your delivery address, and just send me an email with your proper address. I will make sure you get your food to your home, and I apologize for whoever carved up this county into an absolute mess with one singular postal code for such a large area!

Can you just leave it on my step? I’ll be home in six hours.

No. 1) Squirrels. 2) If it’s not 4 Degrees or lower, it is not food safe.

Are the weekly meals fresh or frozen?

The weekly meal program meals are prepared fresh. They have a fridge shelf life of 5 days. Fresh meals can be frozen and then thawed overnight in the fridge at a later date. We also have a line of frozen family style entrees which can be baked at home.

Can I freeze my meals?

Meals with roasted potatoes don’t freeze well, all others take to the cold just fine. Thaw, and heat to 165 to enjoy.

I don’t like spice! Help!

Cool, select your spice preference during the checkout process, and we will accommodate as best we can.

Do you cater?

Absolutely! Send us an email with your details, and we can put together a plan for your event. Plated dinners, drop off lunches, hor d’oeuvres filled cocktail party, full service wedding, whatever you are looking for, we’ve done it, or will do it.

Do you have nutritionals for the meals?

As of yet, no. Nutritional analysis of recipes is costly, and the nature of a changing weekly menu makes it difficult to maintain nutritionals. If you have a specific calorie threshold, I am accommodating that for clients. Looking for a protein dense meal? I’m heavy handed with the plant based protein portioning. Avoiding oils? We use olive oils sparingly in our fresh meal program.

Does your facility use nuts?

Yes. Do we sanitize after using nuts in a dish, keep the nuts in separate containers, and do our best to avoid cross contamination? Also yes. We use everything except peanuts currently in our facility.

Gluten Free?

We are gluten friendly. A lot of the cooking will be done to accommodate gluten intolerances, however our facility does use wheat in other things we make, so it is not Gluten Free.

Dine in?

Not currently an option, but something we will explore in the fall. Private dinners are possible, email us to set up a special meal.
